MOSAIC INTER-FAITH MINISTRIES provides a permanent welcome center for refugees, economic immigrants and first generation residents and citizens.  An extensive work-site learning internship program provides a stipend as adults work on the following crews:  business network, custodial/maintenance, gardening and landscape, jewelry-textiles-and-art, reception, retail, and warehouse food distribution.

Extremely Low-Income and Diverse Ministries:

Manna Market Outdoors provides free food and clothing at 9 am on Thursday mornings.  Manna Market Indoors provides food on Monday through Wednesday between 8:30 am and 2:30 pm including refrigerated and frozen items. ESL Word Bingo furthers vocabulary in English while providing staple prizes for the home.  65+ attend as they wait for food boxes!

More Blue Sky Employment Center offers a spectrum of free employment readiness and placement services.  Resume Construction, Vouchers for Interview Clothing/Haircut/New Shoes, Mock Interview Classes and monthly bus pass, English to Work Classes, 1:1 online computer assistance, assistance and interview and employment training, 24 hour translation services, and follow-up assistance after placement with permits, clothing, and tools required for the position.  An educational plan is developed while working with employment readiness services with an emphasis on college pathways.  Approximately 5% of those accessing employment services will be assisted in navigating services to build their own cottage industry and connection to venues where entrepreneurs can display and sell products for supplemental income.

Green Waters Women's Health Center generously delivers quality threading, hair trim, chair massage, and tailored health consultations every Tuesday morning; and quality facials and health consultations on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  Nutrition classes and yoga are taught Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11 am to 12 (Noon).  While receiving services from certified professionals in homeopathic care women are connected to free government medical services and health insurance.  Medical scholarships are available from April to August.

Holiday/Winter Essentials Give-A-Way is a program to provide winter relief for extremely low-income elders, seniors, adults, children and infants right here at home.  The 1rst Tuesday of December provides educational toys and games, art supplies, gym bag and blankets to parents of young children.  The 1rst Wednesday is a voucher day for adults with vouchers from Junior Assistance League Brighter Tomorrows (for those seeking work); Deseret Industries and/or Crossroads Urban Thrift Store.  The 1rst, 2nd and 3rd Thursday in December provides free holiday foods and warm winter clothing and blankets to families and individuals in need.  Adults often arrive by 6 am to be among the first 200-450 families; and 1400+ families are served each year, 2nd week in December.  Please consider donating to this grand event which also connects families to free employment readiness and placement services.

Refugee/First Generation/Economic Immigrant Services include the Welcome Center at 4392 South 900 East SLC, UT 84124 (Open: M/T/W/Th 8:30 am to 3:00 pm) where diverse families and individuals can access education, language classes (Spanish and English), employment readiness services to placement through MOSAIC's More Blue Sky Employment Center, and  extremely low-income assistance.  In addition, MOSAIC Inter-Faith Ministries diversity networks with the Salt Lake Mayor's Council on Diversity and Enriching Utah Coalition to advocate for diverse rights and resources for all people in Utah.

In-Home Senior Assistance A free home-health aid and certified nurse assistant listing is available free to caregivers and seniors/elders and their families and/or friends.  Yard care, housekeeping, and in-home services provide a support for seniors to live in their own homes for as long as is possible.  Senior Volunteer opportunities at MOSAIC Inter-Faith Ministries include gardening, arts, human service, and translation/interpretation outreach.

Leslie's Global Thrift-N-Gift Shop is a model local fair trade shop, offering cottage industry opportunities to refugees and thrifting opportunities to all Utahns.
